CBH BOOKS AWARD RULES AND REGULATIONS

Cambridge BrickHouse, Inc., a Massachusetts publishing company, and Hispanic Image, New England’s foremost bilingual magazine, will present the 2005 CBH Books Award for Literature, with the purpose of promoting literary creativity, regardless of the dictates of the contemporary publishing market and based solely on a work’s literary merit and quality of its content.

The CBH Books Award will be governed by the following rules and regulations:

  1. The CBH Books Award is open to works of any genre co-edited or published by CBH Books, formerly Versal Books, between January 1, 2005 and December 31, 2005.
  2. The author of the winning work will receive $8,000.00 used for the sole purpose of covering the publishing costs of an additional work by the author, as long as the work submitted is no longer than 200 pages (8.5 x 11 in.), double-spaced, and one-sided. The author will also receive 500 copies of the second published work, which can be used for promotional or commercial purposes. Furthermore, the author will receive a certified diploma signed by the author presiding over our judging panel.
  3. The panel of judges will include distinguished social and literary figures, as well as editors and executives of Cambridge BrickHouse and Hispanic Image.
  4. The author agrees to assign all rights to the printed and digital copies of the winning work to CBH Books for a period of two (2) years. The author also assigns CBH Books the exclusive right to reproduce, translate, sell, and promote the winning work through any means, in any country, and with the use of the book cover and author’s photo.
  5. To publish your work and become eligible to participate in the 2005 CBH Books Award for Literature, send your manuscript to:

    Cambridge BrickHouse, Inc.
Attn: Readers’ Committee 2005 CBH Books Award for Literature

  6. Participants agree to be bound totally and unconditionally by the contest rules and regulations.
  7. The decision of the judges will be final. Only one award will be conferred, and will not be presented to more than one author. The decision will be made public through various media organizations and on www.cbhbooks.com. The winning author will be informed personally. Moreover, CBH Books reserves the right to cancel, terminate or suspend the contest if the panel of judges determines that no work has met certain literary standards.
  8. The resolution of any issues not covered in these rules and regulations will be determined by the Cambridge BrickHouse administration.
